Foundation makes presentation to the County Engineers Association of Ohio

Foundation makes presentation to the

129th Annual Winter Conference of the CEAO

(County Engineers Association of Ohio)

On December 8, 2009, The Sandy Johnson Foundation presented our seminar on driver-conditioning at the 129th annual winter conference sponsored by the County Engineers Association of Ohio. Ninety-nine members attended the hour long presentation where several objectives were accomplished, including:

 The introduction of driver-conditioning together with a definition and examples of how it affects highway safety;

  1. An explanation of the impact driver-conditioning has on the thought processes of motorists; and
  2. The disclosure of methods highway officials can use to help drivers combat the affects of driver-conditioning.

 Some of the comments received include:

 “I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation yesterday on driver conditioning. It is always nice to have a new perspective and thought process introduced….”

  • “You nailed it!”
  • “You did a fine job getting your message to the audience….”
  • “I will use several items from your presentation as I evaluate existing intersections, and as I design new ones.”
  • “Thanks for coming and sharing at the CEAO conference.  I think your presentation was very well received!”
  • “I look forward to working with you again.”
  • “Your PowerPoint show was also very well done.”

I would like to extend my thanks to the CEAO and to Dean Ringle, Franklin County Engineer, for the opportunity to present driver-conditioning.
