Roadway Safety Foundation---The Roadway Safety Foundation (RSF) is one of the few national organizations solely dedicated to reducing highway deaths and injuries by improving the physical characteristics of America's roadways - design and engineering, operating conditions, removal of roadside hazards, and the effective use of safety features.

State Farm Insurance National Dangerous Intersection List---About one-third of all crashes occur at intersections. The fact is, many of these crashes can be avoided. Programs in Australia, Canada, and more recently in Michigan have shown intersection improvements -- some of them low-cost -- can lead to crash reduction . State Farm's "Dangerous Intersection" project was initiated to raise public awareness of the inherent dangers of intersections and offer some ways to make them safer.

Ohio Senate contacts list---Thirty-three state senators are elected from legislative districts throughout the state of Ohio -- each one represents approximately 330,000 people. The districts are redrawn every 10 years, following the completion of the national census.

Ohio House of Representatives contacts list---The Ohio House of Representatives is composed of 99 members. Since 1967, legislative districts have been determined on the basis of population. Every 10 years, following the federal census, the total population of the state is divided by 99, to arrive at the approximate population for each district. In the 124th General Assembly, this figure is approximately 110,000 residents per House district.

State Mum on Most Hazardous Sites---The New York State Department of Transportation catalogs the most hazardous sections of road on Long Island and across the state, but the department will not reveal the locations of these hazards or its plans for correcting them. The reason, officials say, is fear of lawsuits.

Safe Car, Safe Driver, Dangerous Roads--- On a crisp fall morning last October, Sandy Johnson, 46, and her mother buckled up and headed out to pick apples on a farm in Licking County, Ohio. The two were traveling east on Morse Road and approaching the intersection at Route 310 when Sandy noticed a red-flashing signal light and stop sign. The mother of two brought her car to a halt, and then pulled out. She didn't make it far.
